    Remedial Massage

Remedial massage begins with a thorough assessment and combines specific deep tissue techniques and gentler strokes appropriate to your needs.

This treatment targets problematic areas and aids mobility. Remedial massage releases muscle tension and helps to reduce the pain associated with chronic conditions and postural imbalances. Remedial techniques can help speed up injury recovery times, maintaining soft tissue flexibility and muscle tone.

Our goal is to work with you to enhance your quality of life. We want to know what's important to you, for you to be able to do all the things you enjoy, without restriction or discomfort.

We utilise evidence-based practices and consider research in pain neuroscience and how the nervous system responds.

Other techniques used in remedial massage may also include Dry Needling, Myofascial cupping, Low level laser therapy as deemed appropriate through assessment.

Check the therapists’ qualifications above, if you have specific requests.

  • Lymphatic drainage massage to support pre and post surgery care, general wellness, scar healing, sinus drainage, lymphodema, lipeodema, cleansing

    Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Manual lymphatic drainage supports the lymphatic system to function better and decreases fluid congestion.

These techniques are an extremely effective part of any wellness program, as it improves the transport of nutrients and waste products in our system, encouraging a positive immune response.

Lymphatic drainage is recommended as an essential treatment for a range of health conditions including sprains and strains, sinus congestion, Lymphedema and lipoedema to name only a few.

This treatment also forms a critical part of pre-surgery preparations and post-surgery support, reducing scar tissue and improving tissue recovery.

Low Level Laser Therapy or LLLT is used to treat various conditions using cold laser to affect a photochemical reaction at a cellular level.

The LTU-904 - the model used by both Melissa & Kellie, does not heat tissue and as such is indicated as part of a therapy plan for the treatment of post mastectomy lymphoedema, as well as soft tissue injury and pain that may be associated with inflammation.

All initial Lymphatic Drainage treatments require a 90 minute session.

  • Pregnancy massage, post natal massage and induction massage

    Pregnancy & Post-natal Massage

As a woman progress through this incredible journey of pregnancy, her body will experience many changes.

Pregnancy massage can assist with most of the uncomfortable changes by relaxing the nervous system and reducing tension placed on the muscles contributing to joint pain.

A pregnancy massage is both nurturing and energising to both mum and bub. These specific massage techniques change as the pregnancy progresses through the trimesters, your treatment is always planned with your individual needs in mind.

When you are full term and your bub is not yet sending signs of arriving, there are some known acupressure points that can be stimulated to try to encourage labour.

Postnatal massage assists the body to return to its balanced alignment, promoting recovery and preventing ongoing problems that may occur after childbirth.

This is also an important time to address the increasing muscle tension placed on the body from hold, cuddling and feeding your new bub. Let us help you get through this special time with as little discomfort as possible.

  • Pregnancy massage, post natal massage and induction massage

    Relaxation Massage

Relaxation massage is nurturing and therapeutic, helping to alleviate stress and relieve tired and sore muscles. It promotes harmony between the body and mind and therefore has a positive impact on our health and stress related conditions.

Relaxation massage techniques enhance the response of our parasympathetic nervous system and is well documented in research to assist both physical and emotional wellbeing.

Some benefits include slowed heart rate, more relaxed breathing, reduced anxiety, improved digestion and sleep quality.

We'll guide you with tools to take home for relaxation and make recommendations to maintain the feeling you have when you leave our rooms.

  • Remedial massage, sports massage, relaxation massage, lymphatic drainage massage, myofascial cupping, myofascial dry needling, soft tissue injury and massage for rehabilitation. Gift vouchers for massage therapy.

    Myofascial Cupping and Dry Needling

Some of our practitioners include Dry Needling and / or Cupping in their treatment plans. If we feel this is beneficial for your treatment, we will always discuss the benefits with you and only proceed if you consent.

Dry Needling uses fine single use needles - the same as those used in acupuncture, to de-activate trigger points and hypersensitive areas within the fascia and muscle tissue.

Cupping has significant benefits in reducing fascial restriction without the need for deeper uncomfortable massage techniques. We use varied applications for myofascial cupping depending on your needs.

Check the therapists’ qualifications if you have specific requests.
